Hello! Happy blogmas day 21! I once again apologize for the lack of uploading the past two days and will make up all of the lost posts after Christmas! Todays’ blog will be about 5 resolutions that I believe fit every single person. These aren’t resolutions or goals for any singular kind of person, and I hope you take something away from them!
1. I will work on myself for myself.
This one is very important to me because I firmly believe none of us are ever the final or perfect version of ourselves. We are constantly learning and experiencing new things every single day that change and shape our personalities and mindsets. To become the person you would like to be, it takes time, hard work, and the right motives. If you are looking to better yourself and work on yourself in any way, big or small, you need to be doing it for you. You can try to lose weight because you think boys will like you more. You can try to study harder because your mom only accepts straight A’s. You can try to do as many things as you want but you will never stick to anything if you do not do them for yourself and really want them.
2. I will be a better friend/family member.
Sometimes we get so caught up in our own lives that we aren’t exactly a super positive or supporting character in our friend’s and families’ lives. I am guilty of this and I am sure you are too. This year make it a point to really try to be a better friend and family member, I will be. Try to be a more active listener, do more of their favorite things, surprise them. Just be there and make sure you are emotionally present as well. These are the people that we choose to surround ourselves with, they shape us and impact our lives greatly, let’s give them a little more love.
3. I will continue to learn.
As stated before, we never stop learning, even long after we are out of school. Learning is free, it is important, and it can change your life. Find ways to continue learning outside of school this year. Read more books, become a more active listener, fact check tweets you see, talk to the old lady sitting next to you on the bus. Knowledge is so valuable and comes in so many forms.
4. I will continue to grow.
Growing and learning go hand-in-hand I think. Just like learning, growing never stops. You may stop growing physically, but your heart and your head never stop. Take everything life throws at you this year, feel it intensely, understand the lesson that is coming from it, let it go, and grow. You can’t always control what happens to you, but you can control how you react to it. Take the time to think things through and feel the feelings you are meant to, then react.
5. I will find the positive.
Sometimes, there won’t be positivity, sometimes life will suck at a moment in time, but also, always, something positive comes out of something negative, as well as something positive coming out of nowhere. If you are looking for negativity, you will find it. If you are looking for positivity, you will find it. So take the time to be grateful for what you have an manifest the positive for the future. Positivity is all around, it just depends on what it looks like to you.
