My Current Favorites

self-isolation has given me time to really try products, incorporate new things into my routine, and really hone in on what I want to keep in my daily rotation of things. I have tried new skincare, new clothing brands, new tea, new hames, everything. So here are my current favorite things and where you can get them too! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy! Disclaimer: Nothing in here is sponsored and there are no ads. Every opinion is my own opinion.

1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons

If you are a Nintendo Switch owner and you don’t have Animal Crossing, you are seriously missing out. This game is so cute, so relaxing, and so easy to help me take my mind off of things. You can plan your whole island, visit other islands, explore with friends, garden, make your own clothes, explore new wildlife, it’s simply the cutest. If you need a way to relax and kill time I recommend this 100%. get a Switch here and Animal Crossing downloaded from the switch.

2. Guided YouTube Meditation

The world is crazy right now so I find it very important to take time to check in with how you are feeling. Are your intentions set for each and every day? How are you using this time to better yourself? Are you anxious or angry? Tuning into your emotions and your goals is very helpful for me to stay motivated and hopeful throughout this chaos. It can be hard for some people to be alone or at home with some family so if you find yourself in a bad mental state feel free to reach out to me: mxdisonyoung on Instagram.

3. Whipped Honey

I got a variety pack of whipped honey from the Savannah Bee Company and they are life-changing. I put the regular or chocolate honey on a banana and microwave it for a minute for a healthy dessert, or I put the lemon and cinnamon honey in my tea in the morning for an extra immunity boost and the flavor is so good. The texture is so light and a little goes a long way. There are perfect for cheese boards, tea, and everything else you could want honey for. Everyone should have this in their house. Grab them here.

4. Alba Botanica: Clear Coconut Spray

Being home in the Florida Keys for so long means I have plenty of time to work on my tan. I have also been running and just generally outside a lot more. I am naturally an easy burner so I wear sunscreen every day (which you should be too!) to prevent burning, sun damage, and premature aging. This sunscreen is SPF 50 and smells so good. It works really well, you just have to be on top of reapplying it. I love the smell because it is not that overwhelmingly sunscreeny, you know? I love it and will continue to use it. Get it here.

5. Grit by Angela Duckworth

I have had a lot of free time, obviously, so I have been reading a lot. I love this book because it is all about how you can have all of the materials to be successful, but if you don’t have the drive or the want to succeed at something you will never get there. You need to have grit. I loved this because a lot of self-help books I have read give you all of the materials you need but never tell you what to do with them. This one slapped me and said, “get your shit together, you have to want it.” I love it and I believe it changed my outlook for the better. If you need a push or need to get motivated, this is is the way to start. Get it here.

6. CALM by 5 Seconds of Summer

Music is a big part of my life and I have been listening to 5 seconds of summer since I was 14 years old. Every album they have come out with has been very different and it is really cool to feel as if you are growing up with them. this album is fantastic and I think everyone should give it at least one listen through if that’s your thing. It’s pop but not really. The vocals are amazing and the instrumentals are so well thought out that the emotional impact is very heavy. (Best years and wildflower are the best songs ok). Stream on Spotify or Apple music.
