Blogmas Days 13 & 14: Best Items To Eat At Universal Orlando (Gluten Free)

Happy Blogmas days 13 & 14! I combined the days because I am currently at Universal and wanted to get a comprehensive list of things I tried over the course of my time here where is a night and a day. I’m sure these aren’t the best things in the whole park, but they are very inclusive in the sense of allergies and these were the best things I had.

Note: I am not allergic to gluten, it just helps with my hypothyroidism. So if you have celiac or an allergy, make sure to tell your staff member and they will almost always use a separate fryer, station, and tools to make sure there is no cross contamination.

1. Earl Grey & lavender, clotted cream flavored ice cream from Florian Fortescues Ice Cream Parlour ( Wizarding World of Harry Potter)

Sadly, the waffle cones and some flavors such as the sticky toffee pudding do have gluten in them, but most flavors like the earl grey and lavender as well as the clotted cream are gluten free! The clotted cream is really unique and I highly recommend it if you like frozen yoghurt. Ask a cast member for help choosing a gluten free flavor, but honestly they’re all good!

2. Jack Daniels and Apple Cider from Hogs Head (Wizarding World Of Harry Potter)

Ok so first a disclaimer: Jack Daniels is said to be gluten free because of the distilling process, but if you are highly sensitive maybe try a different spirit!

This drink is so good. It doesn’t even taste like it has alcohol in it. It’s the perfect drink for cooler weather and walking around the faux Hogsmead. Aside from butter beer, this is definitely what the golden trio was drinking.

3. Crispy Smashed Potatoes from BigFire ( Universal Citywalk)

These are absolutely delicious. They’re so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the service at the restaurant was incredible. Really spaced out and they wiped down credit cards and ID after touching them, gave you a bag for your mask, and was overall a really safe and yummy experience. For sure try these.

4. Grilled chicken sandwich and fries from Burger Digs ( Jurassic Park)

At this restaurant they can make any sandwich gluten free by giving you a gluten free bun (all online ordering as well) and if you tell them you have a gluten allergy it will be prepared separate). My sandwich came in a special container so it didn’t touch any gluten and the staff was so great. The sandwich was yummy and really filling so I could start drinking without a worry, lol. It’s quick and yummy so for sure one of my top quick service restaurants at Universal.

5. Wedge Salad from BigFire (Universal Citywalk)

This is one of the best wedges ever. Marked as gluten free on the menu, it had iceberg lettuce, blue cheese, red onion, egg, bacon, and avocado. Super great start to a great dinner and really great flavors. I love a good wedge salad and this was for sure in my top wedges ever. Again, the service was amazing here.
